The MVARC will be participating this year in the Idaho State
Convention to be held in Boise on April 21,22 and 23. It
will be held in the same place again...at the
in Boise. Turn right off Vista Ave.
exit and you are there.
MVARC will have a booth at the
convention this year promoting our club and accomplishments.
We need volunteers to help man the booth. Please let me
know if you can help!
MVARC will also be sponsoring a CW contest. This
will be a LAST MAN STANDING CW copying contest. The first
price will be a
donated by K7SU. Second and third prize will
be an $80 HRO gift certificate and third prize will be a $40

$49 + $40 for class materials (paid to instructor first day of class)

Course Code: XMSC 192 C01
This class will
introduce you to the hobby of amateur (ham) radio. In this course,
you will learn the ins and outs of radio communication ncovering local,
national and international markets, as well as emergency and space
communications. This course will cover radio requirements,
operating procedures and all the knowledge needed to prepare you to take
the FCC Technician Class License exam which will be administered the
last day of class. At the end of the course you should be able to
pass the exam and be communicating with other hams around the world!
To register for the class go to the following link. For
the class choose Ham Radio. Please not, in addition to the $49 CSI
charge, there will be an additional charge for class materials which
will be around $40, plus or minus.
The MVARC will be holding an exam session for those seeking a Tech, General or Extra Class amateur radio license. The session will be held Saturday,
Mar. 18, 2017 at 9 a.m. at Loong Hing Restaurant on Kimberly Road in
Twin Falls. More information is on our Testing Sessions Page.
Please note...if you are upgrading you MUST bring your original license and a PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR LICENSE! If you do not also provide a PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR LICENSE, you will not be able to take the exam.

MVARC members hold a non-formal, no-host lunch each Thursday (excluding holidays) at the Happy Landing Restaurant at the Magic Valley Regional Airport at 12-noon. This is just a fun get-together where we discuss all things relevant including politics, ham radio, economics, theory of relativity, theory of life on other planets, how to turn lead into gold and coal into diamonds. So if you aren't busy this Thursday please drop by and join us.
